Jana + Spirit = Kindred

This beautiful dynamic duo has been on my "shoot" list for quite some time.
We had planned months in advance to get some kinda grad shots done with Jana and her beautiful fox trotter Spirit.
I made my way up to Joe Rich later in the day (around 7) the lighting was stunning and the location WOW. Jana's family farm is everything a country photographer dreams of! Fields of wild flowers, a beautiful stream running through.... It's for sale... I just have to find out what bank I want to rob.
We set out with two outfits in mind! We walked around the vast acreage and stopped at points that peaked my interest, we stopped alot.
Jana thank you thank you thank you for picking me to be your photographer! I LOVE the photos and I hope they are something you can cherish for many years to come.
Happy trails,
K.

Steven + Ivana = Long Distance Love

It must have been fate...
Steven was shopping for a quad online, he clicked on "recently updated" and BOOM my ad popped up, at that moment he figured that now is a good time for photos with his stunning girlfriend.
Seperated by distance but bound together by their heritage (both their parents are from the same town in Croatia)these two lovebirds successfully endure a long distance relationship. I love spur of the moment "lets celebrate our relationship" on Steven's part, so romantic!
We went up to South East Kelowna and bounced from location to location! We incorporated old barns, some horses and a beautiful wooded area that reflected them!
Thank you so much for choosing me! You guys were such rock stars!
XoXo

Friends + Graduation = Memories

So after doing a Grad shoot with Santana, and Family photos with Santana... her wonderful mother gave her the present of ME!
I was told she wanted to do something no one else has done... we brainstormed and hmmm and hawwwed over what we could do.
If you know me, you know I love anything vintage so my vintage paired with Santana's style we created a theme and chose to goof around and throw tomatoes! (it was originally cherries, but let's be reasonable, tomatoes are way messier!)*FYI lots of Cacti up there... got one stuck in my foot... again*
To the top of Knox we went - we threw 2 bags of tomatoes on a mountain top over looking the city... bet you haven't done that!
After a quick change we did some tresspassing at the local Mill... just the barge. These girls were such troopers and totally were down for anything!
Happy Birthday Santana - and girls thanks so much for being awesome! I love our results!

Taryn + Derek = Okanagan Radiance

FINALLY Summer is here (Ya I don't care, I said it, I might jinx it but I'm throwing caution to the wind). It was a very perfect July 23rd!
The morning started at Margaret’s Hair in the Mission, this girl is a riot! Champagne and laughter flowed... equally! Taryn stayed so calm and collected - and it showed through the day, this girl was just AMPED to be married!
A beautiful back yard ceremony (and not just any back yard, this one is phenomenal...) Derek was waiting as patiently as possible but you could sure see the emotion in his eyes when he saw his beautiful bride to be. She was so breathtaking, I'm told Derek shed a tear but I don't believe it, plus no photo evidence. Even a very handsome Hogan made his entrance as their ring barer
Our photo locations were so diverse I LOVE IT! Cherries, wineries the beach and the exquisite Eldorado Hotel!
Thank you both for choosing me, I really can't tell you what an honour it was to witness such a beautiful wedding!
I wish you all the love and happiness in the world!
XO

Tanisha + Rob = Beautiful Ava

Not sure if you reconize the property but it is the beautiful Casorso Farm. This farm has so much to see on it - including amazing old barns and out buildings. I am seriously a kid in a candy store every time I get asked to shoot here! After a bit of coordination Tanisha and I finally got our stuff together (we'll blame Rob and Alberta weather). This shoot was great even with a new babe in their arms they were up for anything :) I get lucky with the best clients EVER. Tanisha is a stunna and that little Ava is just to die for! Not a peep out of her the whole time we shot... except when I was attempting to hold her, she was NOT a fan of that (can they tell when your not child worthy?). Anyway - we had perfect light and fantastic weather!
Thank you to Ava and her family for choosing me! :)

Shauna + Richard = Serene Simple Love

Yup - ANOTHER BLOG POST (How excited are YOU!)
I had two weddings this weekend, back to back!
This is Richard and Shawna - Their wedding was at Serenity Gardens in Kelowna!
Another first time venue for me to shoot at! Can you tell this is one happy photographer?
Serenity Gardens waaaaaaaaaaay up on McKenzie Rd. This place is a plethora of flowers, waterfalls, orchards and gardens! And it truly is a beautiful place!
Everything was lovely and simple for these two! A case of "less is more"
No bridal party, no flowers just love sweet love!
I always tell my bride and groom to ignore me - I'm not here (just kinda creepy when I'm stealth in the bushes). Shauna and Richard needed no encouragement for me! They laughed with each other, lovingly looked into each others eyes and totally forgot that anyone was there holding a camera!
We utilized EVERYTHING (minus the pool... which I was trying to figure out how I could "accidentally" fall in without my camera!). Old ladders, wood piles and yes even the weeds!
Shauna totally rocked her beautiful gown! I honestly have the best clients, not one complaint when I request they bury themselves in catnip bushes!
I wish you love happiness and may you preserve the love you have forever.
XOXO

Georgia + Bryce = Wilderness Wedding

The dress was divine - the company was phenomenal...
But the venue tops all!
You may remember Bryce and Georgia - they were my lovely musical couple up on the blog a little while ago!
They chose a place for their wedding that would reflect exactly who they are and the love they share!
Silver Star Mountain in Vernon! The ceremony was held at a beautiful little gazebo just off the path from the Village.
This space was quickly cleared out for family photos and WOW what a backdrop! Beautiful green mountains, trees everywhere and just the right amount of cloud cover that it created patchwork on the land below! Nature's very own canvas! Gotta love the breath taking views of the Monashee Mountains.
After a short time doing bridal party photos in the village (and FYI this wedding party ROCKED), Bryce Georgia and I hopped on the ski lift and went to the summit.
Just so everyone knows... July at 1,915m - still has SNOW. It was a tad bit chilly and a few couple dozen (million) mosquitoes (I'm now aware they can survive ANYTHING)but we braved it all for some once in a lifetime photos.
Georgia was AWESOME - she was not at all concerned about her stunning gown and complied with every crazy idea! Bryce ... not one peep out of him, anything to make his beautiful bride happy!
I wish you two a lifetime of love and happiness. I know you have all you will ever need in each other.
Thank you for letting me be apart of this very special day. I never get tired of witnessing the love on a wedding day, and I know I am so lucky to have this as a "job".
XOXO

Deja + Colby = City Girl Loves Country Boy

I really can't tell you how awesome these two were!
We went inside old barns, got some strange bumps from interesting plants...
Deja is a photographers dream, she's beautiful and can't stop smiling! Colby you kept me laughing, he was up for anything! Totally pumped about everything!
We ventured around the stunning Summerhill Winery!
You guys were great! So glad that you were given the gift (Christmas present) of Kay Photos! :)
It's people like you that make my job so much fun and so rewarding!
ENJOY
