Jade + Roxy = Palomino Drama

What more could a photographer ask for, a beautiful girl and a drama queen horse! Oh and a gorgeous autumn day!
I love the fall colours and the warm sunny days that are at the tail end of summer. I spent an hour and a bit with Jade - we had some good laughs and a few stern talking with Roxy (she was distracted to say the least)
But I still love our results and always love a challenge!
Thanks guys, hope we can do a trash the dress sometime!

Nicole + Smokey = Picture Perfect

Nicole and Smokey met me on a beautiful Autumn day, the sun was warm and the subjects oh so photogenic! Smokey was a perfect gentleman, ears always up and nice and quiet. From 1 hour spent with this dashing couple you could tell the love was unconditional!
Thank you both for coming out and playing on old trucks and in cow pastures!
I had a blast!!

Jenna + Chris = Rare Love

I don't even know how to start this blog. I have so many many many things to say about these two, they are first and foremost some of the nicest people I've ever met. And the speaches only proved that, their friends and family all confirmed they are the kindest most wonderful people they knew.
The love between them is so honest and genuine it was truely moving for me to witness!
Jenna you were so beautiful, your "free spirit" beamed through! Chris (or Greyson, which ever you know him by) were as handsome as ever. I feel so honoured to be apart of your wedding day, it was spectacular!
We had dove releases, which was made even more special by the fact this was the dove owners last day of doing it, after 350 weddings!
The colours were simply perfect, a fantastic wedding party of 14 total, and a wicked band to keep people dancing (The Youngins).
These two have taveled the world together, expirenced most things that some of us can only dream of... and the real journey has just begun for them.

Monique + Major = Drool Fiesta

I love when the client can't stop smiling and the other client contributes by drooling! Always makes a shoot magical!
Monique is a fellow barrel racer and one awesome lady! Her smile could seriously infect millions! We played with new background, outfit changes and made use of the changing leaves and apples coming into harvest. And Major... well Major was uber lovey, after losing his very close canine friend he was very attached to his momma, talked tons and barely let us get a shot in before he bowled Monique over in his quest for affection. All in all I think we did great!

Karla + Levi = 8 Years of Bliss!

So... this shoot was somewhat intimidating mixed with a bit of LOVE and a whole lot excitment!
Karla from Karmel Wedding Photography (seen here, www.karamelweddingphotography.com) asked me to do her and her wonderful husband Levi's 8 year anniversary photos with their horses.
I can say I was more than honoured... and yes a touch of scared, photographing another photographer is always a bit unnerving!
We saddled up - yes I rode with a camera on my back, while Levi drove our lovely prop down to the bottom pasture!
We had some thistles (okay... a lot of thistles) some knee deep mud, a bit of bucking and some curious herd members, all in all it turned out spectacular!

May you 2 have 64 more years of happiness!

Vickie + Charlie = Childhood Love

Although it was a really gloomy day today this pair had their own sunshine going on!
With Charlie being over 30 years old he is going to be retired soon to a lovely family farm in Nelson. Vickie wanted to take the small window of opportunity and get some photos done with the horse that taught her how to ride!

He had all the spunk and energy (and goofiness) of a young horse and not a sore step in him.
Vickie you were a rock star - with the FOUR outfit changes and even slipping into a few dresses which I'm told is abnormal for this rodeo girl!
I had a great time and totally enjoyed the moral support that was with us during our shoot! (family came along for the ride)

Linda + Shawn = Backyard Bliss!

Linda and Shawn chose a small intimate wedding in their beautiful backyard!
After a touching ceremony and some quick time with the family we beelined it to Prospera for some "ice time" - Some bushwacking at the bluffs and finally some time in an orchard in SE Kelowna! (Love this time of year strictly for the smell of the apples!).
We packed lots in the few hours we were together... but wow was the running around worth it! Love the variety of backdrops!

Cally + Peewee = Spectacular

These shoots are so very close to my heart! I adore horses and their riders, seeing the personality and a quiet bond a human can have with these amazing animals.

Cally and her horse Peewee totally rocked it for the camera! Everything from the white dress and the handsome steed! It took Cally and I some time to finally get together and do this shoot and now I'm just thrilled it came together.

You two belong together!

Alisha + Kevin = WOW

We started our morning at Eclipse Day Spa then I spent a hour out on the boat with the groomsman while they wake surfed and goofed around (guys have it rough on the day of the wedding!). Then off to MAC for some professional make up and the final touch ups at the oh so elegant Eldorado Hotel
Everything went so smoothly and it was so laid back and full of laughter! This wedding truly was a pleasure to shoot!
Alisha was every photographers dream, stunning, funny and so relaxed! Kev you kept us entertained with your crazy dance skills!
The Ceremony took place at Summerhill Winery, the food was phenomenal and the venue as always so beautiful! And I must say that the party was definitely kept rocking by the very talented DJ Haymaker (www.djhaymaker.com, highly recommended). Everyone was out of their seats and having a fantastic time.
