2013 + Goals = BLOGGING

I'm a bad bad baaaaaaaaaad photographer - I have neglected my own website AND blog for a year. Maybe I'll just tell myself I took a year off, that makes it feel better! (the fact I had no idea what the passwords are anymore doesn't help)

So I have a little bit of catching up to do - just means we get to relive 2012 and I'm A OK with that! What a wonderful amazing year Kay Photos has had. With the help of my amazing clients I went 100% full time photographer. It's been full of it's ups and ... well ups!

My wonderful company and clients have given me the opportunity to chase so many dreams and it's only going to get bigger and better in 2013! I am looking forward to meeting so many more people, witnessing amazing breath taking moments and learning as much as I possibly can!

I'm going to work my way backwards and share some of my December 2012 wedding with you FIRST.

The opportunity to travel for weddings has been so incredible (not once but four times in one year)

Jeff and Jasmine were married at the stunning Marina El Cid Beach Resort in the Mayan Rivera. The weather didn't even attempt to get in the way of this wedding! We had crazy storm clouds that hung around but not one drop of rain from ceremony till the end of the reception!
I even had the special pleasure of having my own husband as the best man (he truly knows how to help me coordinate a shot! Not to mention an awesome location scout!)

Jasmine was simply breath taking and Jeff knew it, as he watched his beautiful bride come down the isle.
These two share a love that is so sincere and real it was an absolute pleasure to photograph them!

Thank you both so much for the opportunity to be apart of your day!

Tiff and Nick - Kamloops Wedding

I really can't even begin to describe this wedding...
It had a whole other energy of it's own (as all of them do). Tiff and Nick couldn't be more suited to one another. From the goofy groomsman to the lack of signing table (so we used the best man's back) everything was smooth and totally "them".
If you notice in most the photos Nick is a smart man and always let's his beautiful wife "sit in the drivers seat" ;)
I know without a shadow of a doubt you two will grow old and goofy together!
Thanks for choosing me to be your photographer!

Kristy and Hayleigh

Part 1 of 3

This Saturday I travelled to Kamloops for 2 family shoots and one wedding! This is part 1 blog post!

Kristy and I go waaaaay back to the days of first boyfriends and first jobs. We met at Blendz in Kelowna when we were both hired in our late teenage years! Time has passed and we have grown apart but never lost touch. She recently contacted me as her beautiful little peanut is reaching her 6mo milestone!
If this little girl doesn't melt your heart I don't know what will! She was all smiles and giggles! We made our way around Riverside Park (amongst a very busy crowd!) and got some wonderful shots!
Thanks Kristy, I look forward to her 1yr!

Alberta Style Love

Hehe, So on a lovely Monday afternoon I snuck out of work on my lunch break to meet Lacey and her boyfriend Brandon. Both of them are hard working Alberta "dirt movers". It was a less than ideal location but we made it work in our favor!
Every couple sees their share of ups and downs and these two are no different, but I now see just how strong their love is and it really is worth fighting for!
See you both in the spring! (and yes Brandon it means Lacey is going to make you do more photos!)

Valentines Weekend Wedding

On Feb 13th 2010 - Kay Photos had the pleasure of being present when two people promised their lives to one another. The ceremony was moving and filled with emotions (and some tears!), while after was full of laughter and joy!
James and Lisa were a photographers dream (along with their wedding party), full of ideas and such a huge range of emotion! When it all came down to it the love they shared was so evident!
I wish you all the happiness in the world and congrats on your future!
